About our history

If you and your friends would like to escape to a picturesque and secluded
getaway still only moments away from reality then visit the blue grape vineyard
accommodation on the outskirts of McLaren Vale.

Intimacy and privacy is paramount at this romantic vineyard retreat.
Two studio bedrooms, each with an ensuite and private verandah.
Enjoy the artistically furnished guests lounge in front of the open fireplace.

Friendly owners hans and ulrike zimmermann travelled from Germany to
Australia over 20 years ago and fell in love with the beauty of the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Hans a german architect, and Ulrike a tile maker, decided they wanted to
offer exclusive and unique accommodation to their guests. They designed
and built it entirely with their own hands.

Together they transformed this old tile factory into a modern and comfortable
boutique BnB yet still with that rustic charm and warm country hospitality.

Hans and Ulrike are accommodate across the creek within walking
distance should you require assistance.

Only five minutes to beaches and 10 minutes to McLaren Vale, the blue
Grape offers sensational sea and vineyard views.

Suitable for boutique wedding receptions, private parties business meetings
and family functions. The blue grape boasts a unique venue to highlight any
event in a contemporary country style.

Their vineyard produces a flavoursome premium Shiraz under the name
Zimmermann.wine, which is available for tasting at the cellar door.

The blue grape does not cater for children.
